Photo to plan
Import a list or schedule, clarify uncertain readings, and review before saving.
How do I turn a photo into a plan?
Open AI Coach and choose the camera or photo input, then photograph or select your list, notes, or schedule. Planuki reads the text on your device and builds a task preview. AI Coach, including photo input, requires Premium.
Clear readings go straight to the plan preview. If a reading looks uncertain, Review photo shows the original image and the lines that need attention. Correct those lines or choose an alternative reading when one is available, then tap Preview.
Check the proposed tasks, dates, times, and durations. Choose Edit before adding to make changes, Apply plan to save, or Not now to leave without adding anything. Selecting a photo or opening a preview does not save tasks.
Will I have to check every line of a photo?
No. Planuki skips the extra text-review step when readings are clear. Low-confidence text, unclear dates, or conflicting word readings can trigger review; those lines are highlighted or listed under Other possible readings. Differences in spacing or punctuation alone do not trigger that step.
There is no blanket ‘I’ve checked’ checkbox. You still confirm before the plan is saved. Recognition can be wrong even when it looks confident, so you can edit the plan preview if you spot a mistake.
What if handwriting gives the wrong name or subject?
Compare the extracted text with the original photo in Review photo. Other possible readings offers alternatives when the recognizer has them; choose the right one or edit the text directly. For example, if ‘AP Exam’ is misread as ‘AP tram’, correct the subject before previewing.
Planuki does not blindly replace words or invent a subject name. An alternative is not guaranteed to contain the correct reading. If the mistake appears in an otherwise clear import, use Edit before adding in the plan preview.
How does Planuki handle dates that are joined, split, or unclear?
Planuki repairs supported date-formatting errors, such as ‘Dec5th’ to December 5 and ‘Nov 2 7th’ to November 27. In a month-and-date phrase, an OCR reading such as ‘Dec 171h’ is treated as December 17 rather than a 171-hour duration.
An ambiguous reading such as ‘Dec Sth’ or ‘Decsth’ needs clarification. Planuki flags that line and keeps Preview unavailable until the unclear date is corrected, rather than silently assigning the item to Today. If two exam lines have that problem, correct those two dates; clear dates do not need to be re-entered.
Check the year in the plan preview too, especially when the written date has no year.
What happens when a photo has no date, time, or duration?
In Review photo, Use this date for undated items lets you choose a fallback date. Clear imports that go directly to a preview use today for undated items; change it with Edit before adding if needed. Written dates are parsed separately.
A missing time is not an exam time that Planuki has discovered. Set the intended time in the preview; items without a set time currently use the current time when added. Missing durations default to 30 minutes, which is a planning default, not a duration read from your photo. Adjust it before adding an exam or appointment. No repeat pattern is assumed.
Is my photo uploaded for recognition or review?
No. Photo text recognition, this review screen, and photo-to-plan parsing run on your device. The photo is not uploaded for this process. Nothing is added to your planner until you confirm the plan.
Separate AI Coach conversations may use external processing after permission, as described in the AI Coach and privacy help topics.
How can I make a handwritten photo easier to read?
Use good lighting, keep the page flat, and include the whole list without glare or shadows. Clear writing with each item and its date or time on the same line is easier to interpret. No special template is required.
If a reading is unclear, correct the flagged text or try a clearer photo. Planuki cannot guarantee that every handwriting error will be detected.
Getting started
The essentials for planning your first day.
What should I do first?
Start in Today, add what already has a time, and choose up to three priorities. Put everything else in Brain Dump. Planuki is designed to help you make a realistic plan, not fill every minute.
What is Brain Dump for?
Brain Dump is a private place for tasks, ideas, worries, and lists that are not ready for your schedule. Capture them first, then turn the useful items into tasks when you are ready.
What does Rescue My Day do?
Choose what feels closest: Too much to do, I’m behind schedule, I can’t get started, or I lost my flow. Rescue helps you review a lighter plan, rebuild upcoming times, find a small starting action, or add an optional reset break.
Review the preview before choosing Use this plan. Free includes one Rescue run per day; Premium includes unlimited Rescue My Day.
How do Focus Sessions and Reflection work?
Focus Sessions give you a gentle or deep-focus timer for the task in front of you. Reflection helps you close the day by noticing progress, difficulty, and what you want to carry into tomorrow.
Low & Exhausted energy
A smaller view of your day, with every task still in the timeline.
What happens when I choose Low or Exhausted energy?
Planuki can offer a simpler view of Today’s Focus. If you have at least two unfinished priorities, Show one priority displays the highest-ranked unfinished one. Complete it and the next priority appears.
If no priorities are set, Show next tasks displays up to two eligible unfinished tasks or selected calendar events in time order. Complete one and the next item appears. Nothing is turned on automatically.
Does the gentler view hide or move my other tasks?
It only simplifies Today’s Focus. Other tasks, priorities and calendar events stay in your timeline with their times unchanged. It does not assign priority ranks, postpone work or delete anything.
Choose Show all to return to the usual view. Your choice is remembered when you reopen Planuki that day and resets tomorrow. Use Rescue My Day if you want to review actual schedule changes.
What if I have no priorities or no unfinished tasks?
With no priorities, the Low/Exhausted offer can suggest up to two unfinished items. Wake Up, Reset/Reset Plan and Reflection & Rest are excluded from these fallback suggestions; they remain in the timeline. Hidden or deselected calendar events are not suggested.
If nothing eligible remains, there is no extra prompt. If all your assigned priorities are complete, Planuki shows a completion message rather than choosing new priorities for you.
Why don’t I see the Low/Exhausted offer again?
Not now or Show all dismisses the offer for that view for the rest of today. To ask for support again, edit your energy check-in and select Low or Exhausted, even if it is already selected. The offer appears only when there are eligible unfinished items to simplify.
Rescue My Day
Review times, tomorrow’s tasks, overlaps and Undo before changing your plan.
What can I change in a Rescue preview?
Open Adjust plan and choose Keep today, Move tomorrow or Remove for each editable task. Wake Up, Lunch and Reflection & Rest stay unchanged. Calendar events also keep their original times.
For repeating tasks, Rescue changes only the selected day’s task, not the repeating schedule. Change the repeating schedule in the regular task editor instead.
How do I set a task’s time in Rescue?
Edit the time inline in the task card, then tap Set time to check it and update the preview. Move tomorrow defaults to the task’s original time. If the task has no time, it stays Any time; you can also turn off Set a time tomorrow.
Set time does not save the plan. Choose Use this plan when you have finished reviewing all changes.
Can I schedule a task even if Rescue shows a conflict?
Rescue shows the overlapping task or calendar event names. Choose another time, or select Schedule anyway and confirm to accept the overlap for that task and time. The warning stays visible, and the other items keep their times.
New conflicts or a changed time require another review before saving. Past same-day times and tasks running past midnight remain blocked. Your usual bedtime is a reminder, not a hard deadline.
Does Rescue change anything before I save, and can I undo?
Task changes stay in the preview until you choose Use this plan. Rescue checks the latest tasks and calendar availability again before saving. Undo plan changes restores the previous plan when those items have not since changed; newer edits or completions can prevent Undo.
Energy is separate: choosing an energy level in Rescue immediately updates today’s check-in throughout Planuki, even if you do not apply a plan.
Does my usual bedtime stop Rescue from helping?
No. Near your saved bedtime, Rescue can remind you when you usually wind down. You can still choose a small step now or move unfinished tasks to tomorrow. You do not need a Reflection & Rest task for this reminder.
An overdue unfinished task is still eligible. Past calendar events do not block the current time. Actual overlapping commitments and the midnight date boundary still apply.
How does Rescue handle my calendar events?
Rescue lists named calendar commitments and plans around timed events from your selected calendars. Hiding or completing an event in Planuki does not free that calendar time. All-day events do not reserve the entire day as unavailable.
Rescue never moves or deletes the original event. You can explicitly confirm a task overlap with Schedule anyway; that does not change the calendar event.
Calendar events & priorities
Choose calendars and add Planuki priorities, progress and notes.
Can Planuki read or change my calendar?
Only if you enable Calendar Sync and grant permission. Planuki reads your selected calendars. Titles, dates and scheduled times stay controlled by Calendar. In Planuki you can add priorities, completion, steps, notes and appearance changes locally without changing the original events.
Which calendars can Planuki show?
Calendar Sync uses calendars available in the iOS Calendar system, with your permission and Premium access. These can include iCloud, Google/Gmail, Outlook/Exchange and subscribed calendars already added to your device. Planuki does not sign in to those providers separately.
Choose the calendars and event types to display in Me → Calendar Sync. Account headings group calendars by their source; select individual calendars to control which events appear. You can deselect all calendars without deleting them.
What can I change on an imported calendar event?
Inside Planuki you can mark an event complete, add steps and notes, choose its appearance, set a priority, or hide it from the timeline. Completion and steps are also available directly on its Today/Focus row.
The title, date and scheduled time come from Calendar and cannot be changed in Planuki. Use Open in Calendar to view the source event; make title or time changes in your calendar app. Planuki does not write these changes back to Calendar.
Can calendar events be priorities or low-energy suggestions?
Yes. Use Today’s priority picker or the event’s details to choose priority 1, 2 or 3 for that occurrence. Calendar events share the same three priority slots as regular tasks.
Low/Exhausted views can show unfinished calendar priorities or, when no priorities are set, selected calendar events alongside tasks. Completing an item reveals the next eligible one. All-day events can be included when you enable them.
Do my calendar priorities, notes and completion sync?
These changes are saved locally in Planuki on that device. They are not written to the original calendar or synced through Planuki Cloud Backup. Your calendar provider separately controls how the original events sync between devices.
The event’s identity keeps its Planuki notes and completion attached when its source title or time changes. Separate recurring occurrences have their own completion and steps.
Where do subscribed calendars come from?
They are calendar feeds already available in iOS Calendar, such as holidays or shared event listings. They are often read-only in the calendar app. In Planuki, select them only if you want their events in your plan; deselecting or hiding them does not unsubscribe you or delete the source events.
Account & Cloud Backup
Local data, sign-in, backup, sync, export, and deletion.
Does Planuki require an account?
No. You can plan, focus, and reflect without creating an account. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email only if you choose to turn on free, optional Cloud Backup and sync.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. Core planning works fully offline — your plans, tasks, and reflections live on your device. Reminders also work offline. Cloud Backup and some AI Coach requests need a connection.
Does it sync across devices?
Yes, if you turn on free, optional Cloud Backup and sign in to the same Planuki account on each device. Without Cloud Backup, your planner stays local to that device.
Where is Cloud Backup data stored?
Planuki uses a Supabase project with its primary cloud database hosted in the United States. If you enable Cloud Backup from another country, your account and synchronized planner data are transferred to and stored in the United States.
Cloud Backup is not syncing
Cloud Backup requires a Planuki account and an internet connection. Open Me → Account and confirm that Cloud Backup is on. Make sure every device uses the same Planuki account and the latest available app version before contacting support.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Me → Privacy & Your Data lets you export your Planuki data as JSON, delete a cloud backup, or permanently delete your account and cloud data. Local data remains on your device unless you remove it there or delete the app.
AI Coach
How AI-assisted planning works and what it processes.
How does AI Coach work?
AI Coach first uses Planuki planning tools on your device and, on supported Apple Intelligence devices, may use Apple's on-device language model. Only when those options cannot finish a request may Planuki use OpenAI through its backend, after asking permission before the first external request. It proposes planning steps and changes; you stay in control.
Does AI read all my information?
No. Planuki does not send OpenAI your entire account, full task history, calendar events, photos, account email, or payment details. An external fallback can include your current message, up to six recent AI Coach turns, up to fifteen relevant tasks from today or tomorrow, and limited planning context. Before sending a request to OpenAI, Planuki removes personal details it can detect. This may not catch everything.
Where are my AI Coach conversations stored?
Conversation history is stored on your device. It is not included in Cloud Backup, and you can delete saved conversations from AI Coach History. When local and on-device options cannot finish a request, the current request and limited relevant context may be processed externally after permission has been granted.
Why can AI Coach be wrong?
AI-generated suggestions can be incomplete, repetitive, or unsuitable. Review every suggestion before applying it. Planuki is a planning tool, not an emergency, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial service.
AI Coach is not responding
Some actions need an internet connection and an active Planuki Premium subscription or trial. Check your connection and subscription status, then close and reopen the app. If the issue continues, contact us with your app version and the steps that caused it—without including private planner content.
Photo or voice input is unavailable
Photo input needs Photos or Camera permission. Voice input needs Microphone and Speech Recognition permission. Review these in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Planuki requests a permission only when you choose the matching input.
Subscriptions & billing
Trials, renewals, cancellation, restoration, and refunds.
What is included for free?
Core planning, recurring tasks, Day and Week views, Brain Dump, Reflection, Focus Sessions, Focus Shield, notifications, one Rescue My Day run per day, and optional Cloud Backup are free. Planuki Premium adds AI Coach, unlimited Rescue My Day, smart task breakdowns, planning wizards, Calendar Sync, and the Apple Reminders connection.
How does the introductory trial work?
Eligible new subscribers may see a 3-day trial. Apple determines eligibility, and the purchase screen shows the price and billing period that follow the trial before you confirm.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancellation stops the next renewal, and you keep access through the current paid period.
Can I restore purchases?
Yes. Open the Me tab and choose Restore purchases. Make sure the device uses the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
How do I request a refund?
Apple handles App Store charges and refunds. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com while signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
No. Account deletion removes your Planuki account and cloud data, but Apple billing continues until you cancel the subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Notifications & smart timing
Choose a level, understand reminder timing, and adjust what you receive.
How do the notification levels work?
Quiet: up to 2 reminders a day, normally at least 4 hours apart. It focuses on your top priority and enabled morning/evening anchors.
Balanced: up to 4 a day, normally at least 2 hours apart.
Supportive: up to 8 a day, normally at least 1 hour apart, with encouraging task reminders.
Everything: no usual daily cap or spacing limit for eligible scheduled tasks and enabled anchors. Quiet hours and low-energy spacing still apply.
Choose a level in Me → Notifications. These are maximums, not promised totals. Recovery nudges share the same limits.
What does Adapt over time learn?
It learns from opening and dismissing reminders on this device. Repeatedly opening a task’s reminders late can move them earlier, by up to 10 extra minutes. On-time opens gradually reduce that extra lead.
In Quiet, Balanced, and Supportive, three consecutive dismissals halve the daily limit until you open a reminder. Dismissing the same task’s reminder 30 times stops reminders for that task while adaptation is on. Everything does not apply dismissal-based reductions.
Turning Adapt over time off clears this learning and disables recovery nudges. It does not change your tasks or schedule.
Which tasks can send reminders?
Tasks need a scheduled start time. Standalone tasks can remind you without belonging to an anchor. Tasks assigned to an anchor follow that anchor’s enabled/reminder settings. Quiet includes only your number-one priority task.
Completed, deleted, flexible tasks without a time, and tasks in opted-out anchors do not send task reminders. You do not need Premium or Cloud Backup for reminders.
When will a reminder arrive?
Task reminders normally arrive 10 minutes before the start. Change the lead time in Me → Notifications. A user-selected lead takes precedence over automatic energy adjustments; smart learning can add extra notice for a task.
Enabled anchor reminders use your wake time, lunch time, and 30 minutes before bedtime. Gentle Start supplies the morning greeting, so you do not receive a second duplicate wake-up reminder. iOS controls the final delivery time.
Why am I getting fewer reminders than my level allows?
The daily number is a maximum. Quiet hours, spacing, completed tasks, anchor settings, lower energy, and smart learning can reduce reminders. Priorities take precedence when several reminders compete for a small allowance.
On low-energy days, Planuki reduces reminder volume or increases spacing. Everything stays uncapped, but reminders can be spaced farther apart. Reopening the app does not reset reminders already counted that day.
Does Everything ignore quiet hours?
No. Every level respects your bedtime-to-wake-time quiet hours, including recovery nudges. If your sleep times are unavailable, the fallback is 10 PM–7 AM. A morning reminder can arrive at wake time. Reminders that fall inside quiet hours are skipped rather than delivered as a catch-up burst.
What are recovery nudges?
With Adapt over time enabled, Balanced, Supportive, and Everything can offer a nudge when unfinished timed tasks have slipped. Quiet does not send them.
They are checked when Planuki refreshes your plan and may arrive about five minutes later. They share your daily limit, spacing, and quiet hours, with at least two hours between recovery nudges. Opening a notification opens Planuki; it does not automatically move, skip, or delete tasks.
Will completing today’s recurring task cancel tomorrow’s reminder?
No. Completion applies to that occurrence. Today’s remaining reminder is cancelled, while tomorrow’s occurrence stays eligible. Task and timing changes refresh reminders when Planuki is active.
Why don’t I see a banner while using Planuki?
Quiet, Balanced, and Supportive keep ordinary reminder banners silent while Planuki is open. Everything allows foreground banners. Recovery nudges can still appear in Balanced and Supportive, within the same notification limits.
Do reminders and smart learning work offline?
Yes. Reminders and reminder learning run on your device without an internet connection, cloud sign-in, or Premium. Smart learning does not send reminder history to AI Coach.
Planuki prepares reminders for today and tomorrow. iOS limits the pending queue, so the nearest 64 accepted reminders are submitted. Open Planuki regularly to refresh upcoming reminders.
Notifications are not arriving
Allow Planuki in iOS Settings → Notifications, then check Me → Notifications. Confirm the task has a time and, for Quiet, is your number-one priority. If it belongs to an anchor, check that anchor’s reminder settings.
Check quiet hours, spacing, your daily limit, and iOS Focus modes or Scheduled Summary. Notifications are optional reminders, not guaranteed alarms.
Why did a reminder arrive late?
iOS controls final delivery. Focus modes, Scheduled Summary, notification settings, and system conditions can delay or silence an alert. Planuki schedules the reminder locally, but cannot guarantee its display time.
Permissions & troubleshooting
Fix Calendar Sync, Focus Shield, and permission issues.
Calendar Sync is not working
Calendar Sync requires Planuki Premium and Full Access to calendars. Check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → Planuki, then return to Me → Calendar Sync and choose the calendars you want. If none are selected, no events appear. Check the timed/all-day event settings too. Your calendar accounts must also be available in iOS Calendar on that device.
Where can I find my app version?
Open Planuki and go to Me → About Planuki. Include the version number, iOS version, and device model in a bug report so we can diagnose it faster.
Privacy & your data
Your controls over AI, local data, and cloud data.
Do you sell my data or use it for advertising?
No. Planuki does not sell planner data, create advertising profiles, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Does Planuki use third-party usage analytics?
No. The Planuki release build does not include a third-party usage analytics SDK. Development event logs are disabled in release builds and are not transmitted or persisted.
How do I delete my account?
Open Me → Privacy & Your Data → Delete Account. This permanently removes your Planuki account and associated cloud data. Local data remains on the device until you remove it there or delete the app.
How do I export my data?
Open Me → Privacy & Your Data → Export My Data. Planuki creates a JSON file containing your planner data that you can save using the iOS share sheet.
Still need help?
We read every message and usually reply within two business days.
For a bug, include what you did, what you expected, what happened, and your app and iOS versions. Please do not include private task, reflection, calendar, or AI conversation content unless it is necessary to resolve the issue.
